Happy Wednesday and Happy 2018!! Thank you for visiting my website blog and if you've been waiting for the shop to be put back up after the holidays, I apologize for the delay. It's up now!
I took the first 10 days of the new year to do a little bit of normal living sans small-business-life. It's been lovely and I feel grateful for the break. There were plenty of things to make it busy and plenty of things I could continue to stay busy with but it's time to get B.C. up and running for 2018.
I can see a lot of changes coming down the line. Things I'm excited for and that hopefully will bring Bard Craft to a more authentic and purposefully place. I was very inspired by a book I read over the holidays; "Start With Why" by Simon Sinek. I recommend it across the board. To everyone! I've already shared it many times and I hope I'm not too annoying with the amount I'm referencing it these days. I hope that if you read it (or listen to the audiobook) you will find it just as inspiring and...
Back in the spring, I received a message at my work email address from a representative of the Middle TN Highland Games seeing whether I was able and interested in booking a booth with them. I had never heard of the event but figured I’d do some more research and see what information I could find out about it. Only a night or two later, I was at a gig playing back-up fiddle for a friend when a distinguished gentleman approached me and handed me a manilla envelope. Turns out this was the very same man who had emailed me about the opportunity! (Cue “it’s a small world after all…”)
Turns out that the Highland Games are held at the beautiful Hermitage grounds, the historical home of Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of the United States! It was to be a single-day event and was a very reasonable investment that I figured I could fit in between the festivals I had already put on my growing calendar of dates. Yep. I signed up!
Weeks later when my traveling schedule started, Milwaukee whizze...
What happens when you arrive at your destination expecting it to be warm and sunny and instead it’s 45 degrees? And raining? Oh…and you planned to camp. But you forgot your tent!!!!
You could say I was a little unprepared - or at least underprepared - for the second stop on BardCraft’s festival vendor tour. But over the weekend I realized so many similarities to touring with a band; in essence: the show must go on! I’ve been through some pretty crazy things on the road before and all those experiences and memories come back to me whenever I’m in a tight spot or not sure how to make something work. And this time things did work out just fine and Appaloosa Festival had a happy and successful ending.
By way of it’s beginning….
I first remember meeting members of the band called Scythian over the summer of 2013. We were both playing at the same Irish festival in Dublin, OH. It was late - almost the wee hours of the morning! - on the last night of the event when we found ourselves sharing tun...
Exciting news!!! You'll notice there is a new page on the website and it will let you know where BardCraft will be appearing as a vendor throughout the calendar year. More dates are in the works so there will be numerous opportunities for you to shop new products in person!
It feels so right that the first official appearance on the festival circuit will be at the Milwaukee Irish Fest, since that festival has such a special place in my heart. That also means that between now and August 16th, I am working in a frenzy to try and prepare inventory and still keep up with website and custom orders. Please bear with me if you are waiting on hearing back from me for a project! It remains to be seen whether I will need to curb any further orders during the traveling season of these festivals.
It's a lot to take on, but I'm determined and excited to see what comes of this next evolution of BardCraft! <3
Welcome to the new and improved BardCraft website! It's been fun to revive the aesthetic of the online space and hopefully upgrade info, streamline shopping and I also have every intention of curating a more consistent blog. :)
It's been a busy spring and summer so far - yikes, folks! - so much of the year has already gone by.... I only realized a few days ago that the blog post I had written to notify you all of my springtime travels was still sitting in my drafts section...so I apologize for ghosting here without much explanation. I traveled in Ireland for two weeks and was inspired as always. I have moved house and the workshop along with it and have settled in enough to get cranking away with lots of new things for BardCraft. I might be starting a calendar of events where BardCraft will be selling and demonstration my art and processes - keep a look out for that. I will announce it here when I have it put together.
A new collection of art products are coming soon from the workbench -...

Thank you to everyone who chose to order from my online shop for yourself, your friends or loved ones this holiday, gift-giving season! You are all supporting and encouraging me in continuing this venture. As of tonight, I am no longer taking orders that will be delivered before the beginning of the new year because I'm committed to completing all the previously placed store and custom orders in time for Christmas. That being said, orders can be placed throughout this time as long as it is understood that there will be at least three weeks delay before I will get to them.
Now, I've got to get cracking in the workshop if I want to have any free time for Christmas Eve! ;)
So many new things all over the website today - new products in the shop, new color options for certain designs and the whole shop is working on a "made to order" basis for the new two weeks/up until December 8th with the guarantee of delivery before Christmas up until that point. (Make sure to get your order in soon!!!) Recent custom projects can be seen in the gallery... and definitely most exciting of all is the FREE bracelet that you can get only with your order of other BardCraft bracelets!!!!! To redeem your FREE exclusive bracelet, just add an "Adventure Awaits" bracelet to your shopping basket and specify the size you would like for this Holiday Special. (Only one free bracelet will be sent per order.) I hope everyone has a beautiful and meaningful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends and that everyone gets to dive in to the rest of the Holiday season with much enthusiasm and joy. Thank you so much for visiting the new site!
